Research Hubs
Our researchers develop a wide variety of research tools, many of which approach the same national security challenge from different angles to fully map the problem. NSI's research hubs coalesce the data visualizations, surveys, briefs, and other resources for understanding a single issue under one umbrella. These easily navigable dashboards are kept up to date with NSI's latest assets, including living and customizable interfaces.
Data Visualizations
Our data visualizations give policymakers a high-level view of the vast data our researchers have organized using advanced algorithms and cutting-edge technology. Interactive charts, maps, and more enable users to go beyond written reports and traditional figures by allowing them to filter and rearrange the data, giving them the opportunity to observe critical trends for themselves.
Surveys
Our surveys capture real-time public sentiment on issues crucial to national security. Conducted with methodological rigor and analytical precision, these polls offer decision-makers a reliable measure of where the American public stands on the threats, priorities, and policies shaping our nation's defense and security landscape.
Research Environments
Virtual Research Environment
The NSI’s Virtual Research Environment (VRE) is a secure, remotely accessible space for the Institute and its Postdoc Research Program Fellows, personnel from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), staff and students from the National Intelligence University (NIU), and other authorized users to conduct groundbreaking research. The VRE’s shared coding repository and research resources are expected to bolster the work of over 100 users, supporting projects at the intersection of emerging technologies and foreign relations that play a crucial part in informing US national security policy.
