Jonathon Hathaway is the Research Program Director at the National Security Data and Policy Institute. He has over 25 years of experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. His work at the Institute includes overseeing project deliverables and enabling program development and project coordination. He has diverse research interests, including technological innovation and integration, political conflict, military geography, human-environmental interactions, and Africa.

Dr. Hathaway holds a Ph.D. in Geoinformation Science and an MPP from George Mason University, and an MBA from Shenandoah University.
