Margaret Foster is a data science researcher at the National Security Data and Policy Institute. She has over a decade of experience using data science and machine learning for national security. Her research interests include computational social science, organizational transformation, political conflict, and developing methods to model difficult-to-access political and social processes. Her work has been published in top social science venues, including the American Political Science Review, Political Science Research and Methods, and the International Studies Quarterly.  She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University, with a focus on Security, Peace, and Conflict and quantitative methods; an MA from McGill University; and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
